One of the pitfalls of ministry is pride. It is a gigantic problem, and it is seldom discussed. If you are a pastor, you need to read this article. It may be very eye-opening.
1Ti 6:3-5 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
One of the surest ways to detect pride in any man is by looking at how quickly he dismisses sound doctrine and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Paul says that people who do that are proud and understand absolutely nothing. They are not to be trusted. They have corrupt minds. They are destitute of the truth. And they thrive on creating friction among the brethren. The best way to deal with them is stated in verse 5 and also in verse 11.
"From such withdraw thyself (v.5).
"But thou, O man of God, flee these things" (v. 11).
Don't try to argue with them. Don't try to justify yourself, your position or the truth of Christ. Remove yourself. Flee! Get away from them. They just want to corrupt your heart so that you will be just like them. If they will not hear Jesus Christ and the sound doctrine of the Apostles, they will not hear you. Don't fool yourself and imagine that you can change their corrupt thinking filled with strife and an unhealthy desire to quarrel about semantics. These things only produce dissension and a false godliness which is really godlessness because it has no basis in the contentment that comes from submission to the Lord. They would rather argue than submit to the truth and the sound doctrines of Christ. You should not waste your time with them. Withdraw yourself and flee. That is a far better course of action than entangling yourself in their never ending disputations and battles of pride.

It is a reflection of him. I would be honored to have you check out my oil paintings either by clicking the button above, or by clicking here. Please let me know what you think.
I live in the heart of the area recently declared a disaster area by the October storm. We are fine. We only lost electric and phone for 4 days, many are still without power. Please join me in praying for those still suffering. Pray that I will also be able to replace my main desktop computer which I lost. I do all my church work and internet ministry by computer, and it will be very difficult for me to replace all the programs that I had. Please pray about this also.

You'll want to get you free copy of this wonderful evangelism and witnessing tool. I carry one with me in my Bible all the time. Romans is absolutely the best tool to use when trying to win someone to the Lord. It presents the true attributes of God, and not just a mushy God of fluff and sentimental love. Here you have the God of Holiness who is angry with the wicked, and who considers sin to be a huge moral insult and travesty. When you use Romans correctly in evangelism, you will be presenting the true plan of salvation, in a way that will convict and convert men, in a deep spiritual working of the Holy Spirit. We want genuine converts, and not just lip prayers asking Jesus into a filthy heart that has no real cleansing from sin. Click Here to Get your Free Copy
